The Gladstone Public Library Foundation board is made up of nine volunteer members from Gladstone and the surrounding community. Meetings are on the first Monday of every month. Mary Accettura As a resident of Gladstone for 32 years, Mary has been active in the community as a parent of two Gladstone High Graduates, a grandparent of two children now attending Gladstone schools, and one recent graduate of Gladstone High. Mary was a member of the GHS Fine Arts Parent's Club for four years. Prior to serving as a member and officer of the local PTA she was a board member and chairman of the Polk County ESD. She was also a member of the Oregon Federation of Women's Clubs and a member of the Urban Planning Commission of the city of Dallas. Work experiences are as follows: secretary/treasurer of the Dallas Garbage Disposal for 12 years; promotional director for KROW and KSLM radio stations for two years; small business owner for 14 years; sales associate for 13 years. Mary retired in 2007.  Mary is an active user of the Gladstone Library. Five years ago she chose to challenge the fiction section of the library (old stacks) by selecting the writing of authors whose last names began with "A" and continue through the alphabet--she is now on the letter "S." Mary has volunteered to work on the annual book sale for the past 11 years.



Nancy Eichsteadt is an academic professional who works for Portland State University as a marketing specialist. She is a long-time Gladstone resident and library enthusiast. She has served on the Gladstone School District budget committee, the Gladstone School District Foundation auction steering committee, and the Gladstone School District Facility Needs Committee, as well as the library Friends group. She has been active in school district bond and levy election campaigns. Ms. Eichsteadt’s background includes 26 years working in both K-12 and higher education institutions.



Moma Escriva is a native Oregonian and has been a resident of Gladstone for over 30 years. Moma attended the University of Portland and received a BA in humanities at Marylhurst. She also received a Certificate of Professional Development from Portland State University School of Business Administration. Her work history includes positions at Lake Oswego Junior High School Library; Lewis and Clark College, Department of Graduate Studies; Providence Hospital, Human Resources; and Clackamas Community College, Public Affairs among others. Moma became involved in library activities after retiring from CCC in 2005. She has volunteered at Gladstone Library and is a member and treasurer of Gladstone Library Board. She is also the liaison between the Library Board and the Foundation Board.


Angie Himmer was born in a small town in Germany called "Linn." She moved to the US in 1969 and attended Cleveland State University where she majored in Accounting. After living in numerous locations the weather and landscape, reminding her of her home town, helped her to make the decision to call Gladstone, OR the home for her and her family. She works as a real estate broker for Oregon realty, as well as serving as Gladstone Library Volunteer. Seeing the hardwork and the dedication of the staff she decided to join the foundation and has been a board member for the last two years. She has been an integral part of the improvement and planning of the new library and she looks forward to seeing it come to fruition.


 

Colette Umbras has lived most of her adult life in the Clackamas area, and more specifically the last 29 years in the City of Gladstone. She has volunteered with PointWest Credit Union where she served on both the Supervisory Committee and as a Board Director. Colette retired after a 36 year career in Human Resources with Multnomah County, where she worked at one time or another with every department, including their Library. Reading is a passion of Colette's and she hopes to help others develop their passion for books as well.

Amy's photo Amy Masgai, new to, and newly in love with Gladstone, is proud to be on the Gladstone Library Foundation. She has been a library fanatic since her childhood days in the beautiful downtown Spokane Library. A dedicated volunteer, Ms. Masgai has been doing community work since she was 12 years old. In addition to her work on the Gladstone Public Library Foundation, she also spends time in Tryon Creek State Park as a Nature Center Host where she enjoys celebrating the beauty of nature. Her other interests include art, music, theater, writing and cooking. Ms. Masgai hopes to continue a career in program or operations management in the greater Portland area. She is also pursuing opportunities for civic work that supports the future of Gladstone and Clackamas County where she hopes to remain for long time to come.
